These Terms of Use (“Terms”) explain the rules that apply when you access or use www.thegivingcircle.in, participate in a Giving Circle, support a social cause, make a donation, become a Cause Champion, explore volunteer opportunities, or otherwise use our services.
Please read these Terms carefully. By accessing or using The Giving Circle, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
These Terms form an agreement between you and The Giving Circle (“The Giving Circle”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
They apply to visitors, donors, Cause Champions, volunteers, NGO representatives and other users of our website and services.
If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the platform.
Certain services, campaigns, volunteer opportunities or partner programmes may also have additional terms. Where additional terms apply, they will be made available at the relevant point in your journey.
The Giving Circle is a social-impact and community-giving platform in India that connects people with verified NGOs, social causes and opportunities to create meaningful impact.
The platform enables people to discover causes, support fundraising campaigns, participate in Giving Circles, become Cause Champions, volunteer and contribute their time, network or resources.
The Giving Circle supports social-impact initiatives across areas including education, women’s empowerment, healthcare, animal welfare, disaster relief, community development and other social causes.
Our role is to help supporters discover trusted NGO partners, participate in community giving and understand the impact created through their support.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, The Giving Circle acts as a platform connecting supporters with participating NGOs and does not itself implement every programme or activity displayed on the website.
You may use The Giving Circle if you are legally capable of entering into a binding agreement under applicable Indian law.
If you are under 18 years of age, you should use the platform only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.
When providing information to The Giving Circle, you agree that such information will be accurate, current and complete.
You must not impersonate another individual or organisation, create a misleading identity or knowingly provide false information.
Certain donations, volunteering opportunities, campaigns or programmes may have additional eligibility requirements.
The Giving Circle enables individuals and communities to discover and support verified social causes through a structured community-giving model.
Depending on the services available at the time, you may be able to:
A Cause Champion is an individual who chooses to advocate for, support or mobilise their community around a social cause or campaign available through The Giving Circle.
The availability of particular campaigns, features or programmes may change over time.
Donations made through The Giving Circle are directed to the relevant participating NGO and do not form part of The Giving Circle’s own funds, unless expressly stated otherwise for a particular programme.
Payment processing may be facilitated through authorised third-party payment gateways, banks or payment service providers.
Before completing a donation, please review the campaign details, donation amount, recipient organisation and other information shown during the payment process.
Where the recipient NGO holds valid approval under Section 80G of the Income-tax Act, 1961, eligible donations may qualify for a tax deduction in accordance with applicable law.
Where applicable, the recipient NGO may issue the relevant donation acknowledgement and Form 10BE containing the information required for claiming an eligible deduction.
Eligibility for a deduction depends on factors including:
Section 80G deductions are generally not available to individual taxpayers opting for the new tax regime.
Cash donations exceeding ₹2,000 are not eligible for deduction under Section 80G.
Displaying a campaign or NGO on The Giving Circle does not by itself mean that every donation will qualify for a tax deduction.
Donors should consult a qualified tax professional regarding their individual tax position.
Payments may be processed by independent payment gateways, banks or financial service providers. Their own terms, privacy policies and security practices may apply.
The Giving Circle does not guarantee uninterrupted payment processing and is not responsible for failures caused by third-party payment providers, banks, network providers or systems outside our reasonable control.
Cause Champions help build awareness and community participation around social causes.
If you become a Cause Champion, you agree to communicate responsibly, accurately and transparently.
